BACKGROUND CHECKS REQUIRED

There are 2 types of background checks required in California:

1. JDP Background Check
-required by Little League Inc.
-must be completed annually
-required for all volunteers

2. LiveScan
-required by California
-needed to be completed once
-required only for board members, coaches, managers, & team parents

BEFORE SIGNING UP TO VOLUNTEER

There are different requirements depending on which role you have chosen to volunteer for. But all volunteers are subjected to a required background check and will need a copy of your ID. All volunteers are also required to complete the Child Abuse Awareness Training. Please follow the categories below:

If you are a manager, coach, or team parent - you will need to following below:
-a copy of your ID
-headsup concussion training certificate
-abuse awareness training certificate
-diamond leader training certificate
-Sudden Cardiac Arrest Prevention

If you are volunteering for the snack shack, field prep, or fireworks booth - you will only need the following below:
-a copy of your ID
-abuse awareness training certificate

Diamond Leader Training

After registering, JDP will send you an email to complete the background check.

Volunteers interested in becoming managers, coaches, or team parents are required to complete both the JDP background check and LiveScan. Please complete JDP when signing up.

LiveScan can be completed in-person at The UPS Store in Suisun (131 Sunset Ave E, Suisun City, CA 94585). Please notify employees that you are there to complete LiveScan for Suisun American Little League and fill out a form. You will not be charged any fee.
